Beirut, the largest city and the capital of Lebanon, is voted as one the the New7Wonder Cities. Inhabited more than 5,000 years ago, it is one of the oldest cities in the world.

The first law school in the world was established the city of Beirut. It existed as early as 450 BC as per the 1881 law book written by Oxford University professor Thomas Holland.
