The colorful Pahiyas Festival is being celebrated every 15th of May in the town of Lucban, Quezon Province as thanksgiving to God for a bountiful harvest. Also it is celebrated in honor of the town’s patron saint, San Isidro Labrador,a farmer.

It is a very vibrant event because people decorate the facade of their houses with leaf-shaped, multi-colored  rice paste wafers called “kiping” together with some flowers, fruits and other agricultural harvests.  The house with the most creative display  wins an award.
